Antonietta Collins

Antonietta Toni Gonzalez Collins is a Mexican American journalist. She currently works for ESPN as a news anchor for SportsCenter and sometimes hosts SportsNation. She began working for ESPN as a reporter in the year 2016. She is the daughter television journalist Maria Antonieta Collins. Antonietta Collins has been bilingual since the age of nine years old. It was a helpful talent that enabled her to get her first job in the production department with Univision in Miami which provided her with the opportunity to work with the producers of national shows like Nuestra Belleza Latina, Premios Lo Nuestro Premios Juventud and Primer Impacto. After this she was hired by she was hired by the CBS station located in St. Petersburg employed her as a sport reporter. After 2009, the news reporter moved to Rio Grande Valley Texas where she worked for KNVO TV 48 Univision as in addition to Fox2 News. Reporting on stories on drugs and immigration issues on both sides the Texas-Mexico Border, she worked as a news reporter on KNVO TV 48, the Spanish channel KNVO TV 48 from 5pm, then an anchor for the news channel in English at 9 pm and the news anchor was on until 10pm, before returning back to KNVO TV 48, the Spanish channel. She was also often asked to be an anchor for weather and sports. She was then anchor and reporter on Univision Dallas' Deportes 23. The station then gave her greater responsibilities. She was a reporter for events like the Major League Baseball ALDS ALCS World Series and Dallas Cowboys, NBA postseason, Finals FC Dallas as well the Dallas Stars. She also produced Univision 23's local sports program Accion Deportiva Extra, on which she acted as anchor. The show was made a sports anchor for Despierta America Deportes' morning show. She also served as an anchor on sports on Primer Impacto, a magazine show on the UniMas Network and Contacto Deportivo. Antonietta Collins was born in Veracruz, Mexico. Then, they moved to Mexico City and she was born on the 22nd of November, 1985. She has a sister. The family moved to Miami after moving to Mexico in the US. Her parents divorced soon after in 1995. Her mother was remarried to a naval architect called Fabio Fajardo who died from kidney cancer in 2006. On a trip, Antonietta stayed at her sister's house in Canton Ohio. Her older Collins brother had recently been offered an offer to work. Antonietta had just graduated high school, however she knew her plans for what she would do. It turned out that she was a fan of the university and that they had the major she was looking for. Following her graduation from high school, she made the decision to go to the university and major in Media Studies. Mark Bergmann - her professor and managing director at WRMU (91.1 FM), where she belonged. Her professor, Mark Bergmann, inspired her with his enthusiasm for journalism. Also, he deeply affected her.
