Antonietta Collins
Antonietta Toniz Collins, also known as Antonietta Gonzalez-Collins in both the United States as well as Mexico, is an American-Mexican sportscaster. She works for ESPN as an SportsCenter anchor for news. She started working at ESPN in 2016. She is a daughter of Maria Antonieta Collins, a television reporter. Antonietta Collins is bilingual and has been since when she was nine years old. Her ability in this area allowed her to land her first job at Univision, Miami. She worked alongside national producers on shows such as Nuestra Belleza Latina Premios Lo Nuestro Premios Juventud Primer Impacto. Then, the CBS subsidiary of St. Petersburg employed her as a sport reporter. In 2009, she relocated to Texas in the Rio Grande Valley where she became a news correspondent for KNVO TV 48 Univision. The stories she covered were about illegal immigration as well as drug trafficking throughout Texas and Mexico. She was also often asked to be an anchor for weather and sports. She then anchored and reported for Univision's Dallas affiliate Deportes 23 where she was assigned more responsibility. She created pieces for Major League Baseball ALDS ALCS as well as the World Series as well Dallas Cowboys NBA postseason Finals FC Dallas, and Dallas Stars. Besides this, she produced Univision 23's local sports show Accion Deportiva Extra on which she served as the anchor. She was promoted to anchoring sports on Despierta America Deportes' morning show. Then, they moved to Mexico City and she was born there on November 22, 1985. She is older than her sister. The family settled in Miami following the move to Mexico into the US. In 1992, her parents separated and shortly afterward in 1995 she got married again Fabio Fajardo who was naval engineer, who died in 2006 due to kidney cancer. She stayed with her family in Canton Ohio with her older sister over the summer, where she had been given a job. As a senior at high school, but knowing exactly what she wanted to do with her life Antonietta was able to visit at the University of Mount Union to determine if the school was suitable for her preferences. Then she was enthralled with the campus. And they offered her major. When she finished her high school education, she chose to attend the University with a major in media studies. Mark Bergmann was her professor and the manager of WRMU in which she's a member. They formed a strong connection. Mark Bergmann inspired her to have confidence and his enthusiasm for journalism deeply influenced her. She was determined to fulfill the expectations of him and not fail him.
