Antonietta Collins

Antonietta Toniz Collins (born in Mexico) is the Mexican American journalist. She currently works as working as a sportscaster at ESPN who is also an anchor of SportsCenter reports and hosts SportsNation. She joined ESPN as a reporter in the year 2016. She is a daughter of Maria Antonieta Collins, a journalist on television. Antonietta Collins was bi-lingual since nine years old. It was a helpful ability that allowed her to secure her first job working as an assistant to the producer with Univision in Miami that provided her with the opportunity to work with the producers of National programs like Nuestra Belleza Latina, Premios Lo Nuestro Premios Juventud and Primer Impacto. After this she was hired by the CBS affiliate located in St. Petersburg employed her as a reporter for sports. After 2009, the reporter relocated into Rio Grande Valley Texas where she worked for KNVO TV 48 Univision as and Fox2 News. In addition to reporting on issues related to trafficking in drugs and immigration on both sides of the border, she served as a reporter on five minutes of the p.m. Spanish newscast a anchor and reporter for anchoring the 9 p.m. newscast in English as well as a reporter again for 10 p.m. Spanish newscast. Also, she would fill in occasionally as a weather and sports anchor. Then she anchor and wrote at Univision's Dallas affiliate Deportes 23 where she was granted more responsibilities. She produced pieces about Major League Baseball's ALDS ALCS and World Series the Dallas Cowboys the NBA postseason and the NBA Finals FC Dallas and the Dallas Stars. Additionally, she was the producer of Univision 23's local sports show Accion Deportiva Extra on which she served as the anchor. She was the sports anchor of Despierta America Deportes morning show. In addition, she served as a sports anchor on Primer Impacto, a magazine program that airs on the UniMas Network and Contacto Deportivo. Antonietta Collins' parents were originally from Veracruz Mexico. The family moved in Mexico City, where Antonietta Collins was born in November 1985. She is the elder sibling of her parents. In 1992, the family settled in Miami after relocating from Mexico to the US. In 1992, her parents separated soon after. In 1995, she was remarried Fabio Fajardo, a naval engineer who passed away in 2006 from kidney cancer. While on a trip with the family in Ohio, the young Collins had taken a position alongside her elder sister. Antonietta was about to graduate from high school, however she knew what she was going to be doing. It turned out that she liked the campus as well as the fact that it had the program she desired. After high school, she graduated and enrolled into media school at the University. Mark Bergmann, her professor who was also the WRMU's 91.1FM station where she worked for many years, became her friend. He was the one who boosted her faith and confidence, as well as whose enthusiasm for journalism deeply touched her. In turn, she determined to meet his demands and never let him down.
